Chris grew up traveling in a military family. As a teenager, Chris fell in love with running and strength training. Both activities allowed them to move their body in a way where they experienced their inner power. They started running competitively and taught their self to weight lift from a television show, using cans for weights and a footstool as a bench. You could say it was their first experience of in-home personal training. They bring this sense of discovery and creativity to their training sessions.

Running marathons and lifting weights became a way of expressing their power, pushing their limits, and handling stress. In these pursuits they found herself struggling with over-training and a series of injuries. Seeking balance, Chris discovered yoga and pilates. The mind-body connection in these practices helped them find a sense of balance with their mind, training, and relationship with food; it changed how they viewed movement and their body. Free from the cycle of injury, they were able to return to the intensity of other physical activities with increased joy. They started teaching yoga and pilates to help others receive the gifts of injury prevention and physical mobility.

Chris loves being outdoors; biking, running, water sports and backpacking. One of their favorite conversation topics is the Appalachian Trail. They are also always up for a geeky conversation on neurology and anatomy. Their initial degrees are in environmental and nuclear engineering  from MIT they are always happy to talk nerd.

Chris is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. They also hold specialty certifications as a Pre/Post Natal Fitness Instructor, Yoga (RYT-200), Basic Mat Pilates, Zumba, and Zumba Kids/Kids Jr. With their diverse fitness experience, they love to incorporate each client’s favorite types of physical activities like cardio dancing, yoga, or strength training to create a personal workout that is effective, fun, and motivating.

Chris has also completed Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Training for Fitness Professionals, through the American Parkinson Disease Association. This allows Chris to safely and effectively work with those who exhibit all forms of Parkinson’s disease, from the initial stage to more progressed stages.

Chris has worked with people of all ages (4-80 years old) with varying physical mobility, ability, and health conditions. They believe movement should be effective, enjoyable, and sustainable. When we pursue our physical goals, we learn a lot about ourselves and what we are truly capable of. The lessons we learn through moving our bodies transfer into strength, power, courage, and flexibility in other areas of our lives. Chris is excited to walk alongside you as you move towards your goals and become more of the person you are striving to be.
