Aside from skiing, Sophie also took a great interest in soccer in which she played at a varsity level through high school. Although Sophie no longer skis, she loves to stay active through weightlifting, cardio and keeping up with her kids.

After graduating from high school in Vermont, Sophie went on to pursue an advertising degree at Suffolk University in Boston, MA and received her B.S. in Communications in 2006. While her experience helped her to mold her client-services skills, she wanted a career that would allow her to combine these skills with a passion for fitness.

Sophie attended the prestigious American Academy of Personal Training(AAPT) in NYC and also became certified through the American College of Sports Medicine(ACSM). After spending a few years in NYC working for a high-end in home training company, Sophie relocated to Northern Virginia with her husband, Jason and DeHenzel Training Systems was born.
