Martin was born and raised in Huntington, WV. He has a deep experience in the fitness industry and has worked with numerous athletes, seniors and special population clients, both teens and adults.
Growing up, Martin was active in multiple sports at a young age, including basketball, baseball, and football. He continued to play competitively throughout his middle and high school years.
After graduating high school, Martin attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV. While attending Marshall, Martin discovered a passion for training and coaching. He worked at Huntington’s High Intensity Training Center for 5 years, working with collegiate, amateur and professional athletes.
He created sports specific fitness programs for grades K through 12 as well as prepared athletes for the NFL and CFL combines. Athletes aside, Martin has a vast experience working with senior clients age 65+. As such, he learned to tailor his workout programs to be client-centered. Martin discovered his love of coaching during this time in life, as he became assistant basketball coach to a youth AAU team.
Following his tenure at the HIT Center, Martin wanted to further his knowledge and skill in fitness and training. He attended the National Personal Training Institute in Orlando, FL before ultimately choosing to further his career in personal training and coaching in Miami FL. While in Miami, Martin worked at Equinox for nearly 10 years, where he had a great relationship with hundreds of clients.
During his time at Equinox and throughout his training, he obtained certifications in Animal Flow (ground based movement), Combine 360, Kettlebell, TRX, precision nutrition, and osteoblast training (bone health). He also has significant experience working with special populations, including youth and adults with special needs.
While in Florida, he also served as head basketball coach at a local Middle School as well as two different AAU teams. Additionally, he worked as strength and conditioning coach for a High School tennis team.
Martin moved to the DC area in 2021 where he has continued his work as a personal trainer. He has a passion for people and a love of sports, fitness and wellness. He looks forward to helping you reach your fitness goals.
