Neil Totten

Neil is from Reston, Virginia, and is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Physical Education teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. As a teacher, he designs and adapts programs to meet the needs of students with diverse abilities, learning styles, and fitness levels. This experience has strengthened his ability to create personalized training programs that help clients succeed at any stage of their fitness journey.

Growing up as a competitive cross-country runner, Neil developed a lifelong passion for fitness and healthy living. Over the years, he has also experienced and worked through physical injuries, using physical therapy and consistent mobility work to return to training safely and effectively. Because of this, he actively practices yoga and stretching as part of his own routine and places a strong emphasis on movement quality and injury prevention. Today, he specializes in strength training and functional fitness, helping clients build strength, move better, and improve their overall quality of life.

Neil became a personal trainer because he understands how overwhelming fitness can feel when you’re just getting started. Having experienced that himself, he is committed to creating a supportive environment where clients feel comfortable, confident, and motivated to reach their goals. His training philosophy is that fitness should be doable, not overcomplicated. He focuses on helping clients see that their goals are achievable by keeping things simple, practical, and consistent.

Outside of work, Neil enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and cooking, as well as spending time with his girlfriend, family, and his cat and dog.
