Mark James
ISSA Fitness Coach

Mark is a native to Northern Virginia. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Strayer University and he also has an Associate’s degree Early Childhood Education. He is also a licensed Registered Mental Health Therapist and Behavior Therapist.

Mark has been an educator in the Fairfax public school system for many years, he loves to enlighten the youth and be a role model for them. After working in the education field for many years, Mark made a decision to follow his passion of fitness and helping others live a healthier lifestyle through exercise and nutrition.

Mark is a Certified Fitness Coach through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) and will be acquiring additional specializations in the coming year as a Pre/Post Natal Instructor and Senior Fitness Specialist.

Mark has also completed Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Training for Fitness Professionals, through the American Parkinson Disease Association. This allows Mark to safely and effectively work with those who exhibit all forms of Parkinson’s disease, from the initial stage to more progressed stages.

Mark enjoys combing cardio, calisthenics, resistance bands and free weights for his personal workouts. He feels larger, compound movements to make up full body workouts work best for his body and functionality. On the client side, Mark enjoys customizing each program where the individual can thrive, allowing them to get in the best shape possible and achieve personal goals.

Aside from fitness, Mark enjoys fatherhood, reading, going to the beach and landscaping. He values being a lifelong learner as much as he values being an educator. Mark looks forward to working with you!
